Georgia-The country of life and Khinkali

The moment we stepped on the land of Georgia, we started feeling the spirit of a proud survivor. Every stone, every street, every door told us a story, every road there was a journey. From stunning, untouched sceneries to traditional yet extravagant cuisine, Georgia’s charms ran deep. Maybe it was wine, but Georgia kept surprising us above and beyond. This little pearl of Caucasus has been definitely blessed with heavenly land. Sakartvelo – this is how the Georgians call themselves, on their unique Kartvelian language, which no one in the rest of the world speaks on. საქართველო - this is how they write it on their beautiful , curvy, elfish alphabet, which no one in the rest of the world writes. The former Soviet Republic has unleashed its potential within the last couple of years, inviting the visitors and winning them over with subtle charms.

Tbilisi, the charming capital of the country welcomed us with controversial architecture, a blend of modernity and history, a visible influence of both Asian and European style. The fretwork balconies of pastel colored houses, the ruins of fortresses and gorgeous historic buildings are the testaments of an uneasy past. But, once you look the other way, the contemporary glass bridges and constructions create an eclectic mix of styles. Tbilisi has always been the home of tolerance, multiethnicity and religious diversity, where despite the presence of Christianity, you would uncover mosques, synagogues and even Zoroastrian temples.

Tbilisi lifestyle is another thing that attracts travelers from all over the world in this city. The city is often called the Berlin of the East. Its history of artistic innovation has gone through the ebbs and flows and now the city manifests what Berlin was once. Georgian art scene and nightlife create the environment where the individuals find themselves, find the social liberty and freedom.

Once you step out of the capital, a flux of emotions hit you, you will discover the beauty of untamed nature and landscapes looking like paintings. The wilderness of the scenery, the lush valleys, the peaks spiking out of clouds create astonishing, paramount nature, that Georgia is blessed with. Amidst this scenery, many artists, poets and writers have been inspired. This wonderful land attracts the visitors to admire the snowy mountains, enjoy the sunsets on the black sea coast, ski on the cotton white ski tracks. It energizes them with the idea of wandering adrift with a camera.

The Mother of Georgia, overlooking the capital city, greets the guests with wine and the enemies with sword. One of the most exciting things about Georgia travelers are cherished by the people. And yes, these people have moves and tunes. The hospitality of Georgians, especially in rural areas is unbelievable. For these people, the guest is a gift from God and needs to be treated special. Georgia is recognized as the first winemaking country from 8000 years ago. Keeping this unique winemaking tradition in clay vessels, giving the wine a thick texture and unbelievable taste. Really, Georgian wine is divine and it is a huge icebreaker for any visitor. Georgians need no reason to feast, it can be whenever, and if they do, it is a big thing. The tradition of Georgian supra (feast table) is way and above the best experience for a traveler. The fun and feast are accompanied by unique Georgian polyphony, the intangible heritage of UNESCO. The rich harmony coming from these tunes, and the floating melodies can blow your mind.

Georgian feast often involves people dancing the national dances, even if they don’t know how to. Georgian dance is breathtaking and it represents a live history of book expressing the centuries of art culture and tradition.
